PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a photographic image by incorporating a fluorodichloromethylthio-deriv. into a layer contg. a hydrophilic binder so as to prevent deterioration in the characteristics of the hydrophilic binder film. CONSTITUTION:A fluorodichloromethylthio-deriv. represented by formula I [where R1 is a group represented by formula II or III (where each of R3, R4 and R5 is alkyl or aryl), R2 is alkyl or aryl, and R1 and R2 may form a phthalimide ring together with N] is used. The deriv. includes a compound represented by formula IV. The deriv. is incorporated into a layer contg. a hydrophilic binder such as gelatin (deriv.) or a cellulose polymer, preferably a layer farthest from a support. The amount of the deriv. to be incorporated is >=about 0.1wt% basing on the amount of the hydrophilic binder. |
