<p>PURPOSE:To enable continuous copying and to prevent malfunction by feeding a sheet from the main storing portion among plural storing portions, continuously feeding a sheet from the other storing portions when the sheets in the main storing portion are used up and again feeding a sheet from the main storing portion after sheets are supplemented in the main storing portion. CONSTITUTION:On starting the operation of a copying machine, with sheets of the same size stored in the main and subsidiary cassettes 10, 10', a sheet feed roller 9 is preferentially driven by a control device so that the sheets in the main cassette 10 are fed out sheet by sheet to a copying portion. While this copy process is continuously executed, if a sheet detector A detects that the sheets in the main cassette 10 are used up, a sheet feed roller 9' of the subsidiary cassette 10' is driven in place of the sheet feed roller 9. Thus, a sheet is continuously fed to a copying portion, while sheets are supplemented in the main cassette 10. When a sheet detecting switch A' detects that the sheets in the subsidary cassette 10' are used up, the sheet feed roller 9 is again driven to feed a sheet from the main cassette 10.</p> |
