PURPOSE:To enable high-precision measurement undisturbed by noise, etc., by determining an internal friction value from a phase difference of deforming force and deformation respectively caused by given periodic changes. CONSTITUTION:By giving a sinsoidal wave electric current to an exciting coil 13, a linear sinsoidal wave vibration is produced in a vibrator system from coil 13, vibration exciting table 10, standard metallic piece 2', metallic specimen 2, etc. This vibration is detected by a strain gauges 3, 3' and after amplifications 5, 5' as voltage change at a detecting end of the wheatstone bridge and subsequently, it is supplied to a signal processing circuit 21 for sampling, A/D converted for collection in a memory, etc. The data collection is conducted per every frequency of a sinsoidal wave current issued from an output circuit 20 and an amplifier output is fetched from a sample value by the Fourie transformation and phase differences delta1, delta2 of the basic frequency elements are determined. When a deformation phase difference relative to a deforming force F1 applied to the metallic piece 2' is assumed to be delta', delta1-delta' stands for a phase of the force F1 and a phase difference delta of deformation relative to a deforming force applied to 2 is delta2- (delta1-delta') and the internal friction of the specimen 2 can be obtained from tandelta. |
