<p>A high-voltage current transformer of head-type construction having a column of insulating material which carries the head housing, having an earthed sheath which surrounds the secondary system and has a centre opening for the primary conductor to pass through, having an output cable tube for the secondary output cables, which tube extends at least to a very large extent through the column consisting of insulating material, and having a closure plate which is fitted to the upper end of the column and is essentially horizontal, on which the head housing which completely surrounds the secondary system is mounted is intended to be improved such that simple production of the head housing and good sealing with as few bushings to be sealed as possible within the head housing are made possible. It is also intended that the primary conductor and the secondary system be capable of simple installation. This is achieved by the following features: a) the secondary system (16) is mounted exclusively on the closure plate (8) via pins (17); b) the primary conductor (18) is constructed in a U-shape, its base (19) projecting through the centre opening of the secondary system (16) and its two limbs (20, 21) passing through the closure plate (8) downwards, and it being possible to make contact with them from underneath; c) a cap (24) which completely surrounds said secondary system and the primary conductor at a distance from them and forms the head housing is placed over said secondary system (16) and the primary conductor (18) and, on the edge (26) which forms the cap opening (25), [lacuna] connected, sealed by insulating means, to the closure plate (8) ...
