PURPOSE:To execute the punching without fail by sandwiching both surfaces of a tape and punching the tape. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 14 to be punched is guided to the middle of guiding means 8 and 9 by a driving device and driven so as to bring the prescribed punching position under a pin 1. Next, a cylinder 12 is operated, a punching pin 10 and a lower part sandwiching means are ascended and between the upper part pin 1 protruded at approximately 0.1mm from the upper part sandwiching means 2, the tape 14 is sandwiched. Further, the cylinder 12 is ascended, the tape 14 is sandwiched with the punching pin 10 and the in 1 and a small hole is punched at the tape 14 with the edge of the sandwiching means 2 and the punching pin 10. A cut chip is exhausted from an exhaust port 6 through a hose.
