PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer material capable of being recorded by not only a thermal record but also a heat mode laser without staining a conveying system and having good slipperiness and a method for thermal transfer forming of an image by using the thermal transfer material. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer material comprises a color material layer containing at least a pigment and an organic high-molecular weight polymer on one surface of a support, first and second back layers provided on an opposite side to the side provided with the color material layer in such a manner that a ratio B/A of the weight A of an antistatic agent contained in the first back layer adjacent to the support side to the weight B of the antistatic agent contained in the second back layer not adjacent to the support is less than 0.3. |
