PURPOSE:To certainly perform recording and erasing of data on a recording medium having first and second recording parts by a method wherein recorded information on the second recording part of the recording medium is read out, and recording (or erasing) energy is given to the first recording twice or more based on the result of reading. CONSTITUTION:In the case a money amount subtractive type card 10 which visual images can be recorded on and erased from is processed by a recording medium processor, the card 10 inserted into a card slot 20 is carried by transfer rollers, etc., and the recorded information is read by a reading head 22. When the card 10 inserted is valid, the usage historical data on a magnetic recording layer of the card 10 are updated and written by a writing head 23. Then, a thermal recording part 24 of the thermal head records a new visual image on the oldest visual image part in a margin of an indicating part of the card 10 based on the usage historical data that have been previously read by a judgment part. At this time, recording (or erasing) energy is given to recording (or erasing) units of the visual image twice or more to perform recording or eraing. |
