The gas-pressure-reducing valve comprises a housing (1) divided by a diaphragm into governor-spring and regulation chambers (3,5). The latter has a union with valve (10) for the feed pipe (6), also one for the discharge pipe (7). The valve moves on and off a seal (8) under the effect of movement of the diaphragm (2), which is transmitted to it by a mechanism (11-22) and generated by the opposing pressures of the regulation chamber and governor spring (4). Pressure above a first threshold value holds the valve against this seat, while below a second threshold value the valve is held against a secondary seat (9), and it is open in the intermediate position. The mechanism includes means (17, 18, 22) for uncoupling the diaphragm from the valve when a third and highest threshold value is exceeded, whereupon the valve is pressed against the secondary seat. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fully protects any units connected to discharge pipe against excess pressure.
|
