PURPOSE:To manufacture a thermoelectric converting material being excellent in thermoelectric property and also stable in quality by crushing and mixing materials together, and sintering them by hot isotropic compression method. CONSTITUTION:Material powder (average grain diameter 0.05-30mum) consisting of PbTe+1.0wt.% Na is prepared. Ethanol is added at a ratio of 1ml/g to 100g of this material, and those are crushed and mixed together for twenty hours at 800rpm with a ball mill. The grain diameter of the powder material thus made is about 5mum. Next, this powder material crushed and mixed together is molded by cold isotropic compression for three minutes under a pressure of 4.0ton/cm<2> into the shape of a disc 10mmphi in diameter and 3mm in thickness. The obtained molded item is sintered by hot isotropic compression method extending for three hours at a sintering peak temperature of 800 deg.C and under a pressure of 1500kg/cm<2>.G, in an argon stream so as to obtain a thermoelectric conversion material. Hereby, a thermoelectric conversion material excellent in thermoelectric property and stable in quality can be manufactured. |
