<p>A process for finishing hydroxyl-terminated polyethers containing a Group Ia or IIa metal ion by contacting the polyether with an organic sulphonic acid ester. Mild conditions of the process minimize formation of unwanted byproducts. The process offers the environmental and economic advantage of not having to remove and dispose of products or byproducts. Finished polyethers are well suited to the end applications including their use in the preparation of polyurethane polymers.</p> |
