<p>PURPOSE: To places the PC card in power-down mode even while the card is connected to a data terminal device by providing a detection part which detects the connection state of a connector, and setting the PC card in normal mode as its operation state when the connector is connected or in the power- down mode in other cases. CONSTITUTION: In a PC card modem, the connector 2, the detection part 3, a CPU 4, and an electric power control part 5 are provided. The connector 2 of the PC card modem is connected to a connector 1. The detection part 3 is connected to the connector 2 and whether or not the connector 1 and 2 are connected to each other is detected. The CPU 4 judges the connection state between the connectors 1 and 2 that is detected by the detection part 3 and controls the electric power control part 5. The electric power control part 4 sets the PC card modem to the power-down mode unless the connectors 1 and 2 are connected or in the normal mode as the operation state when the connectors are connected.</p> |
