A deflecting roller for a strip material moving through a processing liquid (10) and passing around at least one immersed deflecting roller (2) rotatably mounted on two journals (4, 4') each combined with a bearing (3, 3'). Each bearing (3, 3') is entirely made up of ceramic parts and housed in a ring-shaped guide bearing (5) which the processing liquid can enter, said guide bearing (5) being connected to means (8, 63) for supporting the bearing (4) and compensating for the differing expansion coefficients of the bearing parts relative to the journal (4) and the guide bearing (5) so that, at the operating temperature, the bearing (3) is clamped without causing the ceramic parts to break. |
