PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which problems with key operation is solved and waste of a colorant and a form is prevented by automatically returning a printing mode to the preset mode in relation to the printer having the saving printing function of the colorant such as toner and ink. SOLUTION: A printer 1 is set to a toner saving printing mode by a control part 2 according to a key operation signal inputted from an operation input part 6. Printing information is inputted from a host computer 8 to the control part 2. Toner saving treatment is performed in a pattern conversion part 4 according to control of the control part 2 and printing treatment is performed on a form in a printer part 5. Further, when the key operation signal specifying the toner saving printing mode is inputted from the operation input part 2, e.g. a timer 7 is driven and timing treatment of prescribed time is executed. When the timer 7 becomes time-up, the control part 2 cancels the toner saving printing mode. |
