PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate handling, make it possible to set many parameters, and enable delicate control over a musical sound by providing an operation element for parameter setting mode selection, an operation element for parameter setting, and a parameter value assigning means. SOLUTION: An operation element group 16a includes a timbre selecting operation element, an operation element for switching between a playing mode wherein music is played and an edit mode wherein parameters of a selected timbre are edited (altered/set), an operation element for switching a parameter setting mode, an operation element for editing the values of parameters stored in a parameter storage area, etc. Then it is made possible to optionally set all parameters in one mode and optionally set only some basic parameters in another mode while fixed values are assigned to other parameters, thereby controlling a musical tone through one process irrelevantly to a parameter setting mode. |
