Two pistons (5) of adjacent cylinders (C, D) are connected by a broad flexible band (11), the ends of which are fastened to the piston heads. At the attachment point of the band on the piston the broad surface of the band lies perpendicular to the axis of the gudgeon pin (9). The movement of two interconnected pistons is in opposite directions. The band is guided by alignment strips (12) fitted on the cylinder wall at the bottom.
