PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately evaluate watertight performance for a long time in response to actual working conditions when a metallic ferrule with saddle is mounted on a resin pipe of polyolefin resin. SOLUTION: In this evaluating method, a resin pipe of polyolefin resin is cut off into a predetermined length for a test piece 12a and a metallic ferrule with saddle 10 is mounted on the test piece 12a to be a test object 48. Then under a temperature of 80 deg.C or under, an internal pressure of 1.10 Mpa is applied to the test piece 12a for 165 hours to exemplify a secular deformed state of the test object 48. After this, the test object 48 is cooled to 40 deg.C under no pressure and water-tightness is checked in a internal pressure range from low to high pressure. That is, water-tightness is verified under conditions that the actual working environment is assumed.
