COMPOSITION FOR TREATMENT OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS CONTAINING HISTONE

PURPOSE: A medicinal composition containing histone for rheumatis arthritis is provided, which relieves progressive, inflammatory autoimmune arthritis, thereby decreasing arthritis development and arthritis index effectively than steroidal preparation dexamethasone, and showing good prevention effect. CONSTITUTION: The medicinal composition for rheumatis arthritis contains histone H1(or H2A, H2B, H3, H4, or mixture of them) and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The content of histone H1 to inhibit arthritis is about 1mg/weight kg, and injection interval is 3-4days(or 1,2,4 weeks) by i.v. or intraperitoneal injection. A process for the evaluation of arthritis treatment effect of histone H1 comprises the steps of: inducing arthritis in a mouse by injecting mixed solution of chicken collagen II, 0.1N acetic acid and complete Freund's adjuvant; evaluating Clinical Incidence of Arthritis % and Arthritis Index; extracting and separating histone H1; and injecting histone H1 to mouse to watch arthritis prevention and treatment effect.
