PURPOSE: A call transfer method and an apparatus in a switching system are provided to recognize the current location of a mobile subscriber by using mobile subscriber identification information transmitted through a radio transmitting and receiving unit by a CPU and facilitate telephone communicating by transferring a call to the recognized location upon receipt of a call transfer request to the mobile subscriber. CONSTITUTION: A CPU determines whether a call is terminated from an office line or a different extension subscriber(31). If a call is determined to be terminated, the CPU controls a ring generator to transmit a ring to a phone set of a subscriber to which the call is to be terminated. The CPU determines whether the subscriber answers the phone or hooks off a phone set(32). If the CPU determines that the phone set is hooked off in response to the ring transmission, the CPU controls switching circuit to set up a telephone communication between a caller and a receiver(33). At this time, if the receiver desired by the receiver answers the phone, a call transfer request would not occur, and according telephone communication would be performed until a call completion request occurs(35). If a call transfer request occurs(34), the CPU confirms it and receives a phone number according to the call transfer request, that is, an extension subscriber number(36). The CPU searches for a location information registration table on a memory to determine whether the received extension subscriber number is searched(37). When the inputted extension subscriber number, that is, mobile subscriber ID information. is searched(38), the CPU reads a phone number stored related to the mobile subscriber ID information, controls the ring generator to transmit the ring to a phone set of the phone number(39).
