PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a therapeutic agent for hyperlipemia which is excellent in the therapeutic effect on hyperlipemia as causes of various diseases such as arteriosclerosis and cardiac infarction and has highly safe blood lipid improving property by including the extract of Phyllanthus niruri L. SOLUTION: This therapeutic agent contains the extract of Phyllanthus niruri L. An extract is obtained by assimilating leaves, stalks, fruits, entire plants or the like (preferably leaves) in an usual way for an arbitrary time in a solvent. Dry pulverized powder, juice or extracted solution (or its dry matter) of Phyllanthus niruri L. is also preferably used. The extract preferably is prepared by extraction-treating Phyllanthus niruri L. with water at 30-80 deg.C and then by subjecting the extracted matter to active carbon treatment, or by extraction treating Phyllanthus niruri L. with a solution containing methanol in a concentration of 10-60%. Dosage per day is usually about 10-2,000 mg/(1 kg body weight) in terms of the dry matter of the extract. |
