PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appropriate constitution and arrangement of a cross- flow fan, a heat exchanger and an air-blowing port and realize an indoor unit of an air conditioner where a desired performance of amount of air can be attained in response to a size of a main body of the indoor unit. SOLUTION: A cross-flow fan 6 having a rotating axis in a substantial horizontal direction is installed inside a casing 1 in which a suction port 4 is arranged at an upper part and a lower part and a blowing-out port 5 is arranged at a front part or below the front part. Heat exchanger divided into more than two units is installed in a V-shape to enclose the cross-flow fan 6. With this form, it is possible to suck air through the upper part and the lower part of an air conditioned space and to perform an efficient air conditioning operation. Further, it becomes possible to arrange effectively the cross-flow fan 6 and the heat exchanger divided into two or more units in the space of the casing 1 of which height and depth sizes are reduced. Due to this fact, it is possible to make a compact form of the indoor unit and increase a performance relating to an amount of air.
