PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a silane-incorporated paper containing a silane compound as a functionalizing agent at a high concentration without destroying hydrogen bond between the paper-constituting fibers owing to the adoption of water-based papermaking system to maintain the unique feeling and recyclability of paper. SOLUTION: The silane-incorporated paper is composed mainly of vegetable fiber or pulp consisting of aggregate of vegetable fibers and contains a silane compound in an amount of >=2 wt.%, preferably 5-20 wt.% in terms of SiO2.
