PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice making method which can continuously manufacture ice equal in grain diameter without causing blockade by a main flow nozzle for supplying supercooling water into a container for dissolution in an ice plant which is so arranged as to perform the dissolution of supercooling in the water, and the ice plant. SOLUTION: When producing ice by supplying supercooling water into a sealed container and also supplying seed ice or gas together with sub flow water from the sub flow line thereby dissolving the supercooling of that supercooling water, the seed ice or the gas is introduced into the above container together with the above sub flow water only in a certain period in its early stages of the above dissolving action for service of the dissolution of the above supercooling, and then the supply of that seed ice or the gas is broken, and the swirling flow of the above flow water is made within the above container, thus the ice produced by the dissolution of the supercooling, adhering to the inside of the container, is separated by that swirling flow, and that ice is made to serve, as seed ice, for the dissolution of the supercooling.
