摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing optically active chrysanthemumic acid or its derivative by asymmetrically hydrolyzing an ester of chrysanthemumic acid or its derivative which is an intermediate for a pyrethroid-based insecticide. SOLUTION: This method for producing optically active chrysanthemumic acid or its derivative features hydrolyzing the ester of chrysanthemumic acid or its derivative asymmetrically by contacting the ester with an esterase obtained from a microorganism retaining a plasmid containing an enzyme gene for asymmetrically hydrolyzing the ester which encodes an enzyme having the ability to asymmetrically hydrolyze the ester of chrysanthemumic acid or its derivative and represented by a specific amino acid sequence derived from Arthrobacter globiformis.
