The switch operating head has a hand button and an operating shaft having a first segment with fixing elements for securing the operating head in a reception seating (2) of the switch and a second segment provided with the hand button and a number of setting surfaces, for transferring the axial movement of the hand button to at least one switch mechanism (9,10), or an operating element (4) for the latter. The second segment of the switch operating head is axially movable relative to the first segment. An independent claim for an electronic ignition switch is also included.
