<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell, a method for manufacturing the solar cell which makes a range as discontinuous as possible wherein the removal of a short circuit is influenced, and also a short-circuited part removal device. <P>SOLUTION: The solar cell includes an upper electrode layer, a photoelectric conversion layer, and a lower electrode layer. An electrically short circuit generated in the photoelectric conversion layer is removed with a blade or a laser beam of no heat diffusion, together with the photoelectric conversion layer and a transparent electrode layer formed on the photoelectric conversion layer. The example of the removal device comprises a femtosecond laser (41), an attenuator (42), and a light current measuring device (45). The removal device scans the phtoelectric conversion layer with the output of the laser reduced to measure a light current, and temporarily increases the output of the laser at a minimum site in the light current. Consequently, a short circuit in the photoelectric conversion layer can be removed without exerting thermal influences on the vicinity thereof, that is, under a condition that a leakage current newly generated in the vicinity by removal is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
