<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently recover energy by treating organic waste containing a biodecomposable organic material and a non-biodecomposable organic material without separating it into the biodecomposable organic material and the non-biodecomposable organic material. <P>SOLUTION: The organic waste is mixed with a methane fermentation residue to be methane-fermented, and part of the methane fermentation residue is mixed with the organic waste and the rest is incinerated.
