<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device and a data access method that do not disable the start of a computer even if a trouble such as sudden power interruption occurs during rewriting operation of BIOS (Basic Input/Output System). <P>SOLUTION: The data storage device comprises an OTP (One Time Programmable) memory 10 that previously stores program data for control and can write data only once, an FeRAM (Ferroelectric Random Access Memory) 11 that can write data multiple times and constitutes a memory cell by ferroelectric material, a differential data creating section 12 that compares the updated data of program data supplied from the outside with program data previously stored in the OTP memory 10, creates the differential data, and stores the created differential data in the FeRAM 11, a data coupling section 13 for coupling the program data previously stored in the OTP memory 10 to the differential data stored in the FeRAM 11, and a control section 14 for controlling the whole data storage device 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
