PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the parameters concerning the station finding intervals, the intervals of modes waiting for the station finds respectively. SOLUTION: The data traffic is monitored (S101) and the current traffic state is checked (S102, S103). When the data traffic exceeds its threshold (a), the inquiry scan interval is set at its maximum value X1 in order to prevent the lowering of communication performance that is caused by an inquiry scan (S104). When the data traffic is set in a range between the thresholds (a) and (b), the inquiry scan interval is set at its intermediate value X2 (S105). Then the inquiry scan interval is set at its minimum value X3 when the traffic load is smaller than the threshold (b) (S106).
