OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR BUILDING, AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system for building that can easily be introduced into a wireless LAN in each apartment of an apartment house without being made complicated.

SOLUTION: The optical communication system includes a base station 4 which is installed outside a building and performs microwave-band radio communication of radio signals for Internet radio access, a slave station 6 which is arranged at a necessary place in the building and performs radio communication with at least peripheral equipment, and optical fibers 5 and 51 which optically connect the base station and slave station. A light/radio wave combined technique is used for communication from the base station 4 to the slave station through the optical fibers 5 and 51, and the communication is carried out by analog signals obtained by photoelectrically converting radio signals that the base station 4 receives as they are.
