PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve-lift variable valve gear wherein a stopper for an operation shaft is improved to miniaturize an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The valve-lift variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine has a rocker arm arranged therein, whose longitudinally middle part is in contact with a support part provided rotatably to a valve-lift variable operation-shaft supported rotatably by a bearing part, is constituted such that the rocking arm rocks around a contact point with a support point as a cam brought in contact with one end of the rocker arm rotates, meanwhile, the contact point between the support part and the rocking arm can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the rocking arm by the rotation of the valve-lift variable operation-shaft, which has a plate having an end face reversely oriented and separated by an angle almost corresponding to the rotation angle of the valve-lift variable operation-shaft and formed almost perpendicular to the periphery, and the bearing part, in cooperation with the plate, regulates the axial movement of the valve-lift variable operation-shaft, and has a gap part regulating a rotation-starting point and a rotatable angle of the valve-lift variable operation-shaft.
