PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent asphalt from intruding through a gap between a tamper edge and screed plate/a strike-off plate while eliminating heating work for softening the asphalt which is done during construction preparation time. SOLUTION: A screed device 14 for a paving machine includes a tamper device 30 having a tamper edge 34 arranged vertically movable between a strike-off plate 21 and a screed plate 22 for tamping a pavement surface. In the gaps S between the tamper edge 34 and the strike-off plate 21 as well as the screed plate 22 disposed in front and behind thereof, scrapers 35 are provided for contacting with the tamper edge 34 respectively while springs 37 with whose constant pressing force the tip ends of the respective scrapers 35 contact with the tamper edge 34 are equipped.
