The invention relates to a footwear article for patients with Parkinson's disease that have an altered gait. According to the invention, the thickness of the sole is increased in the front portion of the foot (1), such that the forefoot support remains elevated in relation to the plane of the sole. The footwear article does not include a heel so that the front portion of the foot is elevated. Two structures (3) extend outwards from the sides of the front portion of the sole, increasing the leading edge (4) and providing two side supports. The lower portion (2) of the tip of the footwear article is bevelled, forming an acute angle in relation to the plane of the sole.
