The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display (LCD) device free of defective image quality, while minimizing power consumption of a driver, and a driving method thereof. In the LCD device and the driving method thereof, average data of first data to be supplied during an (n-1)^th horizontal period and second data to be supplied during an n^th horizontal period are calculated, and the calculated average data is converted into an average voltage and supplied to each channel during a horizontal blank period between the (n-1)^th and n^th horizontal periods, whereby a swing width of a data voltage can be minimized to reduce power consumption, and since first and second data voltages are prevented from being mixed, a defective vertical line due to data mixture can be prevented. |
