PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device that can suppress an abrasion of an end damper.SOLUTION: An end damper 40 comprises: a cylindrical elastic portion 41; cylindrical metal plates 42a, 42b which are provided on side faces respectively of both sides in a shaft direction of the elastic portion 41; an abrasion-resistant coating layer 43 that is provided on an inner peripheral face of the elastic portion 41; and a low friction coating layer 44 that is provided on an outer peripheral face of the elastic portion 41. The abrasion-resistant coating layer 43 is provided across the whole area in a circumference direction and the whole area in a shaft direction thereof in the inner peripheral face of the elastic portion 41. The abrasion-resistant coating layer 43 is interposed between the elastic portion 41 and a rack shaft 16. The low friction coating layer 44 is provided across the whole area in the circumference direction and the whole area in the shaft direction thereof in the outer peripheral face of the elastic portion 41. The low friction coating layer 44 is interposed between the elastic portion 41 and a diameter enlarged portion 15b in a rack housing 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
