[Also in Division F1] A motor-compressor unit resiliently supported in a sealed casing 14, 16 has the end 44 of its discharge tube 38 soldered to the end 48 of a connector tube 40 soldered at 60 to the casing 14, the tubes 38, 40 being yieldably clamped to the casing at a point between the soldered joints 50, 60 by a spring clip 72. The clip 72 is generally of inverted U-shape Fig. 6 (not shown), the loop thereof being bent at right angles to the arms 102, 104 so as to embrace the tube 40 while the arms 102, 104 are held by a bracket 70 spot-welded to the casing 14. The bracket 70 is corrugated to provide a central concave portion 82 in which the tube 40 rests and two convex side portions 88, 90 which define with the inside 15 of the casing 14, openings 92, 94 for receiving the arms 102, 104 of the clip 72.</p> |
