Polymeric conveyor belt - reinforced by longitudinal cords of aromatic polyamide

A conveyor belt comprises a polymer layer reinforced by longitudinal aromatic polyamide cords. The cords are pref. of poly(p-phenyleneterephthalamide) or poly(m-phenyleneisophthalamide), and have a min. dia. of 2.0 mm and the same direction of twist. The cords may be heat set or may be made from previously heat set strands. The cords or strands pref. have an adhesive coating, and there is a breaker layer on each side of the cord layer(s). As the cords do not unwind a balance belt can be obtained even when cords with opposite directions of twist are arranged randomly.
