The rail wheel with rubber suspension has a rubber element arranged as a ring between the tyre of the wheel and the wheel disc. The ring has recesses extending obliquely with respect to the axial direction of the rail wheel. As a result, a good spring effect is produced; furthermore, during operation the wheel load is transmitted into the rail in the vertical direction.
