A latch of the type comprising a case (1) for the latch mechanism (2), a keeper (4) which is movable relative to the case, an actuating element (21) adapted to release the latch mechanism (2) and the keeper (4) for the purpose of opening the door, driving means (28, 31) coupled to the actuating element (21) to permit the automatic control of this latch and means (6, 7, 8) for reducing the transmission ratio of the force exerted on said actuating element (21) by the keeper when opening the latch, these ratio reducing means comprising a series of three links (6, 7, 8) pivoted together, the intermediate link (7) being provided with means (13) for hooking the keeper and the end links (6, 8) being pivoted to the case (1) to pivot about respective axes which are parallel to each other and to the pivot axes of the intermediate link, while one of the end links (8) cooperates, for the locking of the latch, with the actuating element (21) by means of at least one stop step (23, 24), characterized in that said stop step (23, 24) is provided on the actuating element (21) and cooperates with a locking finger member (25) provided on the corresponding end link (8) and said driving means comprise an electric motor (31) having a rotating shaft which is adapted to act on said actuating element (21) through a transmission (30, 28, 27) converting the movement of rotation of this shaft into a movement in a plane of said actuating element (21). |
