A description is given of an oil-cooled internal combustion engine in which the intention is to match the quantity of cooling oil in an optimum manner to the requirement for cooling, it being the intention to minimise the mechanical power loss of the internal combustion engine. For this purpose, the invention inserts an ejector (10) into the cooling circuit and this ejector automatically intensifies the flow of cooling oil flowing in the cooling circuit (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
