Polyvinylhalide resin compsns. contain 0.1-20 wt%, based on the mixt. of polyvinylhalides, of a two stage emulsion polymer of (a) 5-80 wt% of a first stage of (i) 80-99.5 wt% methylmethacrylate (MMA); (ii) 0.5-9.9 wt% of a 1-18C alkyl acrylate (AA); and (ii) 0-1.1 wt% other comonomers; and (b) 20-50 wt% of a second stage of (i) 70-90 wt% MMA; (ii) 10-30 wt% of a 1-18C AA; and (iii) 0-20 wt% other comonomers. Moulded prods. made from the above compsns. are also claimed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as processing aids in polyvinylhalide resin compsns. (claimed). Lower gel and plastification times are achieved, leading to faster and more economical processing.
