<p>PURPOSE:To remove low melting metal impurities in the steel made by an electric furnace. CONSTITUTION:Porous bricks 6 which are porous and have a high thermal conductivity are used between the bricks 5 in the central part 4 of the bottom of the electric furnace 1 and the shell 3 of the furnace. The low melting metal impurities, such as tin and lead, which are evaporated to gases, are sucked and removed outside the furnace by a suction pipe 8 mounted to the shell 3.</p> |
