PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AZS(alumina-zirconia-silica) refractory material having an improved corrosion resistance including not remarkably high amount of zirconia. SOLUTION: This AZS including 40-50 wt.% of Al2O3, 32-45 wt.% of ZrO2, 10-16 wt.% of SiO2 and 1-3 wt.% of alkali metal oxide selected from Na2O, K2O ad their mixture, has a microstructure fundamentally comprising an α-alumina crystal, a free zirconia crystal, an eutectic crystal and a glass phase between the crystals. At least in the active region, >=20% of the free zirconia crystal has dendritic shapes, and is alternately placed each other with the eutectic crystal, and at least 40% of the dendritic free zirconia crystal has a size >=300 μm. |
