PURPOSE:To simplify a manufacturing process, and to attain lightening by forming a resin layer for electroless plating onto the internal layer of the surface of a roll blank pipe made of a fiber-reinforced resin and forming an elestroless plating layer onto an external layer. CONSTITUTION:A resin layer for electroless plating is shaped onto the internal layer of the surface of a roll blank pipe made of a fiber-reinforced resin, and an electroless plating layer is formed onto an external layer. Roll accuracy such as roundness, straightness, etc., is finished previously before plating is executed, electroless plating is carried out onto the surface up to desired thickness, and the surface is polished. Carbon fibers, etc., are used as reinforced fibers employed for the roll blank pipe, and a resin for electroless plating mainly comprising an epoxy resin is favorable. Pure metallic plating or composite electroless plating, in which ceramic particles such as fluororesin particles, silicon nitride, etc., are eutectoid-formed together with electroless metallic plating, or the like is employed as electroless plating. When impulsive properties are required particularly, composite plating, in which fluororesin particles are eutectoid-formed to metallic plating such as nickel plating, is available. |
