The steering system has connection parts (24,25), which are formed integrally with the cylinder (11). Each has a ring-shaped collar (26,27), projecting outwards from the cylinder. The free end of each collar has a ring projection with undercut, for fastening of the working line (14,15). The collar is formed out of the wall of the cylinder, by a high pressure forming process. Alternatively, the collar may be formed by a cutting tool, or by a friction drilling process. USE/ADVANTAGE - More economical mfr. of rack-and-pinion steering for vehicle relative to parts, assembly, and installation.
