<p>Cutting machine with device for supporting the material being cut, such as for water jet cutting. The machine comprises a cutting head (8) movable in the X - Y axes over a conveyor belt device (1; T1, T2) which provides a solution ensuring discontinuity by means of a space defined between two rollers (4; R1, R2) orthogonal to the direction of movement (X) of the conveyor device and secured to a mobile installation (6) movable along said direction of movement and bearing said cutting head (8). The machine is characterized in that the support device comprises a filler part (13, 13') inserted in said space and defining a slot (14, 14') for the passage of the cutting tool (15), and a strip (16, 16') of a non-stretchable material which can be crossed by said tool (15) and which is disposed on the upper face of the filler part (13, 13'), obstructing the slot, wherein said strip (16, 16') is axially displaceable (Y) synchronously with the axial displacement of the cutting tool (15) in relation to said slot. The invention is useful for example for water jet cutting.</p> |
