The nylon 46 fiber is produced by (a) melt spinning nylon 46 polymer at 290˜320 deg.C, (b) passing the yarn through the heating pipe, (c) slowly cooling down to at 30˜50 deg. C at the cooling speed of 0.2m/min, (d) winging it at the winding speed of 300˜500m/min, predrawing it in the weft drawing machine by 1.005˜1.2 times as long, and (e) two-stage drawing it with a total drawing ratio of at least 4.5. The nylon 46 polymer has repeating units in the molecular chain, which are composed of more than 90mol% polytetramethylene adipanide. The nylon 46 fiber has good strength and shape stability.
