The power unit with saw-blade slides in the plane of the latter. A table for the work slides in the lengthwise direction via roller- or needle-roller-bearings (8) on both sides. The rollers (44) or their races (38,46) are barrel-shaped. One half of each bearing mounting (40) is V- or Y-shaped, forming two bearing halves (38) inclined wrt. each other. Adjustment of bearing clearance takes place along an axis (52) at right angles to the slide travel direction. The blade can be tilted to one side at least from the vertical direction.
