PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately the positions and attitudes of users in a wide range by a simple device. SOLUTION: Detecting devices 2 (2-1 to 2-3) are mounted on the heads of users 1 (1-1 to 1-3) and emit light having luminance variation with time characteristic of the detecting devices 2, detect the angles of the heads of the users 1, and send the detection results to a coordinate calculating device 4. Image pickup devices 3 (3-1 and 3-2) pick up images of the detection devices 2. A coordinate calculating device 4 calculates the positions (X,Y,Z) of the heads of the users 1 on three-dimensional coordinates according to the images supplied from the image pickup devices 3, receives signals indicating angles (Rx, Ry, Rz) from the detecting devices 2, and find the positions and angles (X, Y, Z, Rx, Ry, Rz) of the detecting devices 2.
