PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material testing machine capable of performing reliable zero correction on load values without associated complicated operation and improving measurement accuracy. SOLUTION: A material testing machine is provided with a testing machine main body 1 to exert a load or displacement on a test piece, sensors 2 and 3 each incorporated in the testing machine 1 to measure a load exerted on the test piece and a displacement which occurs in the test piece or a displacement exerted on the test piece, and a gravimeter (measurement control part) 4 to control the operation of the testing machine 1, to collect the load and displacement obtained by each of the sensors 2 and 3, and to obtain the material characteristics of the test piece. The measurement control part 4 is especially provided with a load value correcting means started by reset operation by an auto zero switch 28 and an all reset switch 29 to perform automatic correction on the difference between a real load exerted on the test piece and a load value obtained by the sensors.
