DISCRIMINATION DEVICE FOR VESSEL TYPE OF SAILING BODY AND METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically discriminate the vessel type of a sailing body from a hull acoustic signal. SOLUTION: The device is constituted by providing an acoustic signal receiver 1 for receiving a hull acoustic signal, a FFT processing means 2 for carrying out a frequency analysis, a memory 3 for storing frequency analysis data, a power spectrum calculating means 4 for calculating the power with regard to the respective frequencies from the frequency analysis data in the prescribed frequency band, a symbolic coding means 5 for obtaining the coding signal percentage value for each prescribed frequency band from both the entire energy of the power spectrum in a prescribed frequency band and the energy of power spectrum for each prescribed frequency band divided the prescribed frequency band by N and for producing the code row based on the coding signal percentage value, and a neural network processing means 6 for performing the neural network processing and for outputting the vessel type of the sailing body.
